The Boss DM-2 was introduced into the Boss stomp-box lineup in 1981. The DM-2 utilised the BBD (Bucket Brigade) delay line, which Boss has already used on their first pedal; the CE-1. Known for it's warm tone, it was the perfect choice for their short-lived, yet now infamous delay pedal which had an impressive delay range of 20-300ms. Boss discontinued the DM-2 in 1984 and replaced it with the updated DM-3, however the DM-2 has remained a favourite for musicians all around the world and original units command high prices on the pre-owned market.
The new Boss Waza Craft DM-2W brings the spirit of the original DM-2 into the modern guitarists world. Built using the same 100% all-analog circuitry with BBD, the DM-2W faithfully recreates the sounds of the original and adds new features and delay sounds designed for the musical styles of today. The new 'Custom Mode' extends the delay range to 800ms and provides a warmer, cleaner tone than when in 'Standard Mode'. There is also an added stereo output and and an input for an external pedal to control the delay time. The DM-2W is a firm favourite here at GAK and features in many of our product videos!
The DM-2W is designed by the Boss Waza Craft Custom Shop. In Japan, the word 'Waza' means 'art and technique' and this is truly reflected in this range of stomp-box's. Each Waza Craft product is constructed using analog components, refined circuitry and incredible attention to detail in all aspects of the design. Each stomp-box is given the final sound approval by Boss Japan.
