This unit has been thoroughly cleaned, fully stripped down and all key contacts serviced.
It now plays beautifully!
All switches and sliders function correctly, both on the synth and the programmer.
The plastic splines which retain the screws on the end cheeks were broken, so we've used longer screws with washers to attach the end cheeks to the body from the outside, restoring structural integrity to the unit. It's a discrete solution and is barely noticeable. (See photo)
The aftertouch on the keyboard is not functioning, as is often the case on JX-8P's. It can still be controlled remotely via midi.
